PENIS "S i z e" ENVY
By Weird19
I don't know who really came up with that term, but it probably was a psychologist or a psychiatrist. Maybe even Freud himself. Freud used it when he talked about girls, and their envy of a boy's penis. But I think now it refers more to guys who are envious of other guys' penises. I think every one of us has experienced it at one point or another. Maybe it was when you were in the locker room or shower and you saw a big penis on someone and wished yours was more like it. Or maybe it was when you got your hands on those porn pictures of guys with humongous penises and thought how cool it would be if you had one of those. If you haven't experienced penis envy, then either you are among that small number of people who do have above-average sized penises, or you are truly comfortable with your body. In either case -- good for you.
This page is here to talk about penis envy openly, to inform you guys of what's normal and what's not in terms of the size of your genitals, and to talk about why you would not want to have a huge penis.
DISCLAIMER: I am not a medical doctor, psychologist or psychiatrist, nor am I studying to be one. I have no personal experience with any of the information I am about to give you. The numbers and medical information come from sources I consider scientifically and medically accurate. The rest is speculation on my part, my own feelings on the matter and things I have been told by others, who are also not really qualified, with the possible exception of experience.
The first order of business, I think, is to establish what the average penis size is. Many guys who are average think they actually have very small penises -- hopefully these numbers will help you feel better. The actual numbers vary slightly depending on which book or article you look in. According to The Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex the average size of a flaccid (soft) penis is 4 inches. The average size of an erect (hard) penis is between 5 and 7 inches. First of all, keep in mind that these numbers refer to fully grown men . If you're 13 or 14 years old, you are most likely not yet fully grown. Also keep in mind that everyone grows at a different rate, so someone who's the same age as you can have a bigger penis than you now, but you may end up having a bigger one later on.
Something you must also realize is that most of those guys you see on IRC that say they have long penises are lying. Sure, there are a lot of guys with 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 inch penises. But what are all of them doing on IRC??? The number of people on IRC that report a longer-than-average penis is significantly greater than statistics would allow. That means that either something about IRC attracts guys with long penises (yeah, right!) or they're all liars! Of course not EVERYONE on IRC who claims to have a long penis is lying, but the majority of them are.
Because these numbers are averages , there will be many guys with longer penises and guys with shorter ones. Keep in mind that just because you have a 4 inch penis doesn't mean you're a freak or have a medical problem, and just because you have a 10 inch penis doesn't mean you're more of a man than someone else. Penis size is determined by genes, and has absolutely no effect on your sexual appetite, at least from the physical standpoint. The last thing you want to do is worry that your penis is too small so much that you lose interest in sex. Sex is a wonderful thing! Who gives a damn how long your penis is if you enjoy it? And no, having a longer penis doesn't make sex more enjoyable physically for you, because the head is where all the sensitive nerve endings are. So again, don't let your thoughts keep you from enjoying yourself.
I don't remember where I read this, but I remember reading a book on sexuality that had a quote from a letter someone wrote to the publishers. The letter asked what the longest penis on record was. I believe the answer given in the book was that a doctor somewhere once reported a 13 inch penis. So yes, some guys do have foot-long penises, but not all that many.
I guess now would be a good time to give you some reasons why having a large penis isn't necessarily all that fantastic. First I'll have a small section that has nothing to do with your sexual preference. Then there'll be a small section for heterosexuals (like girls in a sexual way) and for homosexuals (like guys in a sexual way). I guess if you're bi-sexual, you can read both.
